My name is Wuyunqimuge, and I am 50 years old. My family lives in Daban town, Malaqin Xincun. My husband and I have a son and a daughter. Our daughter is already married. I was diagnosed with rheumatism 10 years ago, so I could no longer do heavy work. At that time our two children were both studying, and all housework had to be done by my husband. Later my condition became worse. I could not get out of bed, not to mention walking around. My son didn’t finish junior middle school and instead he went earning money doing manual work. He also went everywhere to seek medical advice and get medicine for me. Now my illness is much alleviated. I can stand up by myself and walk around, I can even do light work. Now my son is working away from home throughout the year. My husband and I have some cows. We rely on the money we get from selling milk and cow dung to support the family. Where we live there is no grassland, we have to rear our livestock in pens and buy them forage. This year’s heavy snow brought about great difficulties for the pastoral area. The forage we have prepared before is not enough. Therefore, I hope to borrow a 3,000 yuan micro-loan to buy some grass feed.

My name is Wuyunjiruhe, and I am an old user of micro-loans. In Janurary 2009, I borrowed my first micro-loan of 2,000 yuan from Wokai and invested it in a breeding business. I bought two ewes and some feed. After one year of meticulous care, the number of sheep increased to more than 50. Although the drought affected the herdsmen’s lifestyle, the market and demand for lamb meat was still high. Last winter, the two of us sold 30 plus sheep, and the income for it was not bad. However, this winter, the snow disaster burdened us with great financial distress, and the need for animal feed increased. It’s the most important thing now to solve the issue of feed shortage, therefore, I would like to borrow 4,000 yuan in micro-loans to buy more feed and to minimize the economic loss the snow disaster has brought upon us.

We have recently launched our Charity Drive in Thailand, helping the disabled and poor kids in Thailand. We have supported two organizations:-

My name is Sarengaowa, and I am 49 years old. My family lives in Daban town. With the help of micro-loans, the economic conditions of my family got better and better every day. One of my daughters already graduated from university, the other two already graduated from high school. Now they are all working in the county town. My family’s main financial source comes from aquaculture. In spring we plant some vegetables in our little yard, that solves the problem of meals for the herdsmen nearby and also settles the family’s current expenses. This year we are faced with very frigid weather. The herdsmen all worry about how to nourish their livestock, because it cannot graze. It even happens that they freeze to death. At the moment our most urgent issue is to prepare enough grass forage. So this time I am applying for a 3,000-yuan Wokai loan to prepare to buy grass forage to be able to resist this heavy snowstorm. With the help of micro-loans we can wade through this crisis.

我叫萨仁高娃，今年49岁，家住大阪城。在小额贷款的帮助下，使我的家庭经济生活日益改善。现在我的大女儿已经大学毕业了，另外两个女儿也高专毕业了。他们三姐妹现在都在郡的首府工作。我们家主要收入来着水产业，今年春天我们在自家小院子里种了些蔬菜，这解决了附近牧民的食物问题，同时也解决了家庭的日常开销。今年我们遭遇了寒冷的天气，因为没有足够的草料，牧民们都为他们养活畜牧而担忧。我们需要预先准备足够的草料。这时我们向wokai.org申请了3000元的借贷，以购买足够的草料来度过这次的大雪灾害。

My name is Jincai, and I live in the Haoraoqingacha Bayin Aobao Village in Daban Town. We are a family of three, my daughter Namiliga is in middle school. I am an micro-loan customer. In the 11 years that I’ve been getting loans, my life has improved dramatically. These microloans have also given me emotional support and given me the bravery to change my poverty-stricken state. Before, my family lived in two dirt houses, the rain got through in the summer and the wind in the summer. We had no livestock and depended on farming or a little of bit manual labour all year round. In 2004, our house was washed away with the flood. With the help of the government and village leaders, we built a new 2-bedroom brick house. Even though our living situation has been resolved, completely depending on farming is not the way to go. So my husband and I decided to take out a microloan and buy some piglets. When my husband finished with the farm work, he would do some manual to earn money. I stayed at home and watched the pigs. Slowly, we had more income and bought a couple of sheep. With the extra money, we’ve added an extra brick room, bought several cows. I milk the cows and make cheese to sell in town. With this money, I can pay for my daughters school fees. Last year’s early spring and the snow storms this year have resulted in serious economic losses. This time I am applying for a microloan to buy feed and grass for self-sufficient production.
